The following was sent to me by Ron Olsen, Kay's Husband, in lew of an obit; |
Sadly, Kay lost her battle with Cancer on early Monday morning, June 17, 2008 I think once she found out there was no hope of getting better, she decided there was no reason to hang around for weeks or months to fail a little each day. She was strong, beautiful and funny to the end. All of her children got to spend lucid moments with her and she passed peacefully and pain free. I thank you for the many letters and cards you have sent. I know the ones she received before passing were great comfort to her. The ones that have arrived since have been very therapeutic to me and her children. And...I have a special time with her each evening under the stars of the desert to share the day and read the cards and letters you have sent. I know she's out there and can feel her presence and her love and appreciation for your beautiful and sensitive thoughts and remembrances. There will be no formal service. Her wish is to be cremated and her remains to be scattered in a beautiful meadow with a mountain backdrop on the road between Palm Desert and Idyllwild. Her wishes for us are to celebrate each day with love, conviction, and appreciation of the beauty each day brings. Please, a contribution to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers Ron. |
